03/05/10 Mandy from Owatonna, MN writes: Dear Joe, I am looking forward to the Twins season!! I can't wait to see
the new stadium. I have especially been looking forward to it since Jan. 24 (the
day the Vikes lost to the Saints). Now I heard there is a rumor going around
that Brett Farve will only come back next year if you agree to a long term Twins
contract. Is that true? If so could you please sign a 10 year contract so that
I could enjoy watching you for the next ten years and I will also get to watch
Brett for the next year. Thanks!! Mandy
03/02/10 RCHS from Minnetonka, MN writes: No one will remember how much money you may have made during you
baseball career, even is it sets an all-time record, when you are in
the Cooperstown Hall of Fame. but you will be remembered gretefully
forever if you play out your entire career with the Twins in Minnesota.
02/28/10 Robbie from Boston, MA writes: Hey Joe, if it wouldn't take to long, I want to ask you one question about baseball? Are their any secrets to your hitting success? How do you time the ball well, with getting the right power behind your swing. Also, I noticed that you went to Cretin-Durham Hall. Did you hear they have the best high school football prospect in the country? That's pretty interesting.
02/18/10 Joey from Des Moines, IA writes: Hi, I'm Joey Denton and I am an intern at 1460 KXNO sports radio in Des Moines,
Iowa. On our station we have a show on Thursdays called "Umps Eye View" where
MLB umpires Tim McClellend and Eric Cooper are the hosts. I was wondering if we
could talk to you during the show? It would be awesome!
02/18/10 Rachel from Hillman, MN writes: Are you going to stay with the Minnesota Twins? I really hope so because I am a
HUGE fan!!! I also hear you met a teacher of mine: Marcus Artner. I am so
jealous. I have wanted to meet you for the longest time.
2/17/10 August from St. Paul, MN writes: If you could change something in your life, what would you change?
02/16/10 Austin from Marshall, MN writes: You are the best Joe. You're my favorite player.
02/06/10 Logan from Puyallup WA writes: You are an insparation to me! I'm 14 and working to hopefully be as

would it be?
02/05/10 Todd from Mt. Pleasant SC writes: You are the BEST! I've been a Twins fan my whole life, and you are by far the
best Twin i've ever seen...and yes I was alive for all the Puckett years...i've
got all his baseball cards and when I graduated from The Citadel I got a ball
signed by him from my now wife...this was really important to me since he had
just passed and he was my childhood hero...Now I just need that one ball signed
by a certain Joe Mauer to complete my collection...hint...hint. haha best
of luck this season and GO TWINS! Keep it up buddy!
02/03/10 Melissa from St. Paul, MN writes: I was a sophomore at Cretin Derham Hall when you were a senior,I occasionally
did locker signs for you for cheerleading and I have to say you are one of the
most kind and down to earth people. Stay your fantastic self!
02/03/10 Barb from St. Cloud, MN writes: I am one of your biggest fans and I would love to meet you. If I got an

02/02/10 Brayton from Carlinville, IL writes: If I send you a baseball card would you be willing to sign it for me. -Thanks, Brayton
02/02/10 Michael from Coopersville, MI writes: Congratulations on last years MVP! Even though I live in Michigan, I love to watch you play. I am 10 and I also play catcher in little league. I have always wondered, since you bat left and catch right, are you naturally left or right handed? How did it happen that you play both hands? i am a "pure" lefty, but there are no left handed catchers in pro baseball. Were you a lefty that converted to righty to play catcher? Thanks for taking my question!
02/02/10 Shohei from Nagoya, MN writes: Hi! Mr.Mauer. My Name is Shohei. I feel glad that you were chosen as the MVP. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I send this Japanese to such you. ??????? A meaning of these words is a meaning to call "catcher best in history". I think that you are the catcher who already wins through up to the history. I become "the history best" afterward. I pray that I can spend a season without an injury. ????
01/30/10 Dan from Boston, MA writes: Joe, I graduated High School in St. Paul (Humboldt) in 1972 and had a history
teacher, Ken Mauer, there who was also the football coach and I was wondering if
you were related to him. I also knew the Athletic Director at Archbishop Brady
HS (W.St. Paul) whose name was Hank Mauer - and I think he was Ken's
brother. I am sure there are tons of Mauers in the state of Minnesota but the
Mauers I am referring to were so linked to sports in the area- I think the son
of one of those guys is a NBA ref. I still follow the Twins from Boston
- and I am enjoying watching your career too. Dan
01/29/10 Sam from Minnetonka, MN writes: Hi Joe! Im in 8th grade, I've been a fan of you for 5 years! My
grandpa played with your grandpa believe it or not, on the west side of St.
Paul. I did a big speech report on you Joe. I got an A for it. I learned a ton
of stuff about you. I was going to go to the diamond awards but I had baseball
of my own. Its more than your play that catches my attention, its how you deal
with everything off the field. Your my hero Joe.
01/27/10 Melissa from Minneapolis, MN writes: Just wanted to say that I went to the Espn Homecoming tonight and was

You are an amazing player, and I would love to see you in pinstripes. Try and test out the free agent market. New York is the best place in the world, and with you the Yankees will be an unstoppable force. Hope you think about it, Kenny
11/30/09 Cathy from Rochester, MN writes: Hello. My son, Eric, is in the Navy and we do not get to see him very often but
he will be home for Christmas for the first time in a long time. He is also a
tremendous Joe Mauer Fan! On the occasion that I get to speak with him he
spends most of the conversation talking about Joe; occasionally I can get a word
in edgewise and ask him if he is eating properly, brushing his teeth :) but most
importantly staying safe. I am writing as I need advice; I would love to get
him a Joe Mauer signed baseball for Christmas as this Christmas will be very
special to our family with him actually being here. I am afraid of spending a
lot of money on a fake; can someone direct me to a reputable place that I may
purchase something signed by Joe for him. Thank you and God Bless you all!

11/27/09 Steven from Medford, Mn writes: will you sigh my card
11/25/09 Kelly from Pleasant Hill, CA writes: Congratulations to Joe for winning the AL MVP award. He is so deserving. After
watching the news conference, I hope more players emulate what a class act he
is. It is so fun to be a fan of someone you can be proud of as a person as well
as a ballplayer. Keep up the good work Joe! We love you in CA too!
11/25/09 Earl from Lancaster, MN writes: Enter comments here!To Shelly from Oakdale that would have been so cool and I
know what you mean by not knowing if you should bug those guys when you see
them. I too had a similar experience as you did, but with Pat Neshek. I was
flying to Fort Myers in February of 2009 and saw Pat boarding the plane and he
sat directly behind me on the way to Fort Myers. I had all I could do not to
say something to him. Then when we landed he was walking behind us in the
airport, so then I couldn't resist and had to get him to sign my hat. He was
real nice and didn't mind a bit to be bothered, so sometimes you just have to
say what the heck and talk to them.
11/25/09 Michelle from Elk River, MN writes: I’ll probably catch hell for saying this but…I’m really not a baseball fan.
Actually I’m not really even a Joe Mauer fan (in the respect of him as a
player). I’m really just a fan of what kind of man he is or at least how he
portrays himself as. I feel like you can almost see it in his eyes that he is a
kind, gentle, caring, humble, honest and compassionate guy. When I see pictures
of him or see him on TV, like tonight during the Wild game, I’m just a little
taken back. Is he so humble and sweet in real life or has he just figured out
how to work the media? I can’t imagine anyone NOT liking Mr. Mauer…what’s there
not to like? Fantastic guy, big heart, caring and a good player. Not that he
would ever see this, but for what it’s worth I’d like to say, “Thank you Mr.
Mauer, for being such a wonderful man for other men to look up to!!"
11/24/09 Genevieve from Rapid City, SD writes: WOOHOO!!! Joe had done it yet again. Great Job with the MVP!!! Joe is my idol
and has been since I was 8 years old and he started behind the plate. He has
inspired me to become a catcher on my softball (which i have one awards for,
just from watching Joe :) and inspired me to do my best in everything. I tell
all my friends and teachers that he is my future husband, and they all believe
me ;) Keep it up Joe, and we have all heard of you, keep your eyes out for the
Name Genevieve, it will be up in lights sooner then you think!!
11/24/09 Shelly from Oakdale, MN writes: I must first tell you that I live and breathe the Twins, and yes, Joe is also my
favorite. Well knowing this...you have to know how excited I was to see Joe at
the Las Vegas airport and then to find out he would be flying home on my plane.
Well people tell me I am nuts that I did not say HI to him but I respect him too
much to do that. The poor man has to try to live somewhat of a normal life.
None the less it was one of the biggest thrills for me just to see him and to be
able to say I flew home with him. I know people have more exciting stories than
this but to me it was quite a thrill!!
11/23/09 Marty from Burnsville, MN writes: Congrats Joe on your first AL MVP award!
11/19/09 Sarah from Bloomington, Mn writes: Our family just purchased a white lab puppy & we named him Mauer! I'd love to send a picture in if wanted. My son Leighton Arnold received a mini mit in 2006 for his 1st Twins game. Just sharing fun info about our new puppy!!! Thanks!

11/16/09 Nick from Casselton, ND writes: Hey Joe. I am a good friend of Whitney Monilaws and I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated the fact that you took the time to sit down and talk with her as well as dancing with her and taking a picture with her this past weekend at the wedding. I really don't think you understand what a great deal of joy and happiness you gave her by doing all of that. For a professional athlete to be so down to Earth and treat people the way you do is just awesome. I have always respected you as a player, but after listening to Whitney talk about the once in a life-time experience, I have an even heightened respect for you not only as a player, but also as a person. As we all know your contract is up after the 2010 year. Being a die hard Twins fan I would be deeply saddened if you left the Twins for another organization. But no matter what you choose to do, whether it be to re-sign with Minnesota or move on to another team, you will never lose my respect. Thank you again for being such a gentleman to Whitney this past weekend and best of luck to you and the entire Twins team in 2010 and beyond. Mauer for MVP!

10/24/09 Dan from Minnespolis, MN writes: Hey! Dan here from Minneapolis/St. Bonaventure University in Southwestern New York. I remember playing Air Freight in a St. Paul Men's Amatuer baseball game about a year ago at Cretin High School and Joe was there watching his brother Billy. After the game, I went up to introduce myself to Joe, told him I was a huge fan of the Twins and of him. He smiled and said, "Oh really? Excellent! Always good to hear!" I asked him what his favorite ballpark to hit in was, and he said US Cellular Field in Chicago. The Twins were on a winning streak after just sweeping the Brewers, and I told him to keep it going in San Diego for Interleage Play. In response, he had a big smile and said "Definately! Sounds good to me!" I shook his hand and wished him all of my luck for the rest of the Twins' season. He had a very firm handshake and responded; "Thank you! I really appreciate it!" Above all, What I remember most is that Joe was extremely polite and generous for a guy with big status! I want to congratulate Joe for another unbelievable season, It could not have happened to a nicer guy! Best of luck to Joe and the Twins in 2010!! I can hardly sleep I am so excited for Target Field!!
10/16/09 Riley from Duluth, MN writes: Hi Joe! I Love you so much!!! You can not leave the Twins, you are the only reason I always watch the Twins. I love the Twins so much and if you leave they are going to be no good. I can't see you in a different jersey than the # 7 Jersey for the Twins.
10/16/09 Nathan from Reno, NV writes: What are your thoughts on the Metrodome, and where would you rather play: Metrodome or Target Field?

09/22/09 Brian from Rogers, MN writes: Hello, I have a great Joe Mauer Story! In 2006 I won a trip to the All-Star Game in Pittsburg. I took a good friend with me and we had a great time! As a thank you for taking me, my friend, while at the game bought me a Joe Mauer 2006 All-Star Jersey. Upon arriving at the airport the next morning for our flight back to Minneapolis, we run into Joe and his Grandparents. I asked Joe if he would sign my Jersey, he was very kind and said he would. My friend chatted with his grandparents for 10 minutes I'm sure. They were all very gracious and nice people. So now I have my greatest sports memorabelia treasure to pass on to my son....I signed Joe Mauer 2006 All-Star Jersey! I'm guessing there are not to many of those around. Thanks Joe!!

07/20/09 Brent from Mathison, TX writes: Hey Joe, Not a request but just remember the little guys when you are out of town. My 8 year old catcher got cracked in the head by a bat and split wide open, i told him I would take him to see you in a game for getting back behind the plate after the stitches were out. He almost fell over himself when you walked by him in the hotel. He still respects you and knows you get "bombarded" all the time. He said it might have even been worth getting hit in the head if you would have signed his mitt. Keep up the good work and remember the little ones.

It's hard to say without an exam, but from what I'm reading about the latest test results, he has an inflammed sacroiliac joint. This can be caused by an imbalance - too much motion occurring in tTHIS joint. It often indicates the opposite side sacroiliac joint is locked - a simple chiropractic adjustment will free the locked joint and restore normal function. This is not uncommon following bed rest after a surgery. I've corrected 100's of these exact cases in one or two office visits. Can someone get him to a good chiropractor!

My son Jarrod had same surgery as Mr. Mauer on May 22, 2008, he is 11 years old. He too has had chronic back pain and after many Dr.'s found my son had an apendicolith and then a hernia since birth. They also found scar tissue playing tug a war with his port sites. He still is having chronic pain and now heart muscle weakness do to 6 surgeries in 1 year. He has been homebound since February of last year. He is now beginning an aquatic physical therapy. I hope they find the source Mr.Mauer's pain, so maybe it will help us and our son. My son misses playing baseball and playing with his friends and doing other sports. We sympathize with Mr. Mauer's family, for we know what he is going through. Thank you.
